OBS setup

Add the wheel to OBS in five steps

  1. Add a Browser source

In the Sources panel of your scene, click +, choose Browser, give it a name like Spin wheel and press OK.

  2. Paste the URL and size

Paste the overlay URL, set Width 1920 and Height 1080 for a 1080p canvas, and leave Custom CSS as it is.

  3. Keep it running

Uncheck Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active, so the chat connection and last winner survive scene switches.

  4. Key out the color if needed

Transparent needs nothing. For green or magenta, right-click the source, open Filters, add a Chroma Key and pick the matching key color.

  5. Spin with Interact

Right-click the source and choose Interact. While that window has focus, your spin key works. Tick Control audio via OBS to route the tick sound through your mixer.

How it works

How stream mode works

  1. Build the wheel

Type your entries, pick a background, size and position. The 16:9 preview on the left shows roughly how it sits on your stream.

  2. Choose how it spins

Set a spin key for Interact, and add your Twitch channel if you want mods to spin it with a chat command.

  3. Copy into OBS

Copy the overlay URL into a Browser source and follow the OBS steps on this page. Test once before you go live.

Why people use it

Built for live streams

No login, no botThe overlay reads Twitch chat anonymously and read-only. It never asks for your password or a token and can't post in chat.
Only you and your modsChat commands from regular viewers are ignored, so nobody can spam the wheel. You can also limit it to the broadcaster.
Clean, readable on streamThick outlines, big labels and an animated winner banner that reads well even at 720p.
Transparent or keyableUse a transparent background in OBS, or green and magenta for capture tools that need a chroma key.
Fair and spam safeResults come from a cryptographic random source, and a short cooldown stops back-to-back spins.
Any platform you stream toThe overlay is just a browser source, so it works on Twitch, YouTube Live, Kick and others. Chat commands are Twitch only.

Which trigger works on which platform

The wheel shows up on any platform because OBS draws it into your video. What differs is how you trigger a spin. The chat command listens to Twitch only. Everywhere else, spin with the key in the Interact window or with a click.

PlatformChat commandHow to spin
TwitchYes, from you and your modsChat command, spin key or click

Overlay URL parameters

Everything is in the overlay URL, so you can tweak a setting by editing the link in the Browser source properties without coming back here.

Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the Browser source settings rather than the wheel itself.

ProblemLikely causeFix
The spin key does nothingThe source isn't focusedRight-click the source, choose Interact and press the key inside that window.

Twitch can change how its chat connection works. If the chat command stops working, the spin key keeps working.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to log in or install a bot?

No. The overlay joins Twitch chat as an anonymous, read-only guest, so there is no password, token or bot account. It can't post or moderate.

Can viewers spin the wheel?

Not directly. Only the broadcaster and mods can trigger it from chat, or only the broadcaster if you choose Only me. A viewer can ask, and a mod can type the command.

Does it work for YouTube Live, Kick or TikTok?

Yes as an overlay, because OBS sends the wheel as part of your video. The chat command only listens to Twitch, so on other platforms spin with the key in Interact or with a click.

Why doesn't my hotkey work when OBS is in the background?

A Browser source only gets key presses while its Interact window has focus. OBS's global hotkeys can't press keys inside a web page, so keep the Interact window open on a second monitor.

Will viewers hear the spin?

The wheel plays a tick sound. With Control audio via OBS checked, it goes to the OBS mixer where you can set the level or mute it.

Can I change the entries mid-stream?

Yes. Build the new wheel here, copy the URL and paste it into the Browser source properties. The source reloads with the new entries.

Is the result really random?

Yes. Each spin's stopping point is chosen with crypto.getRandomValues, so every entry has the same chance and nobody can rig it from chat.
